Discovering Calasetta

Born in Turin and always passionate about the mountains, in 2007 Luca created "The Husky Experience", a sled dog excursion activity in Sestriere.

The project quickly became a reference point for visitors to the mountain resort. In the same year, after friends had invited him for a long time, Luca visited Calasetta for the first time: it was love at first sight.

That first encounter with the sea and the island slowly changed the rhythm of his summers and opened the way to Bellu Mari.

Bellu Mari is born

From that year on, Luca returned to Calasetta every summer for longer and longer periods: first one week, then two, and in recent years the whole months of June and September.

During the last summers, with a small 5-metre rib boat and a 40 hp engine, he began to explore the Sulcis Iglesiente, especially the islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro, discovering their wonderful coves.

After obtaining his boating licence, he bought a SACS 780 rib boat with a 250 hp Suzuki engine and started Bellu Mari, so that travellers could discover and fall in love with South Sardinia.

Simone joins Bellu Mari

"I consider a prison any place where you cannot see the sea."

Born in Carbonia, to a Sardinian mother and a Milanese father, Simone took his first steps in Calasetta after his father Sandro fell in love with the village in 1990.

Since childhood, thanks to Sandro's passion, Simone learned to understand the greatness and beauty of the sea. Together they learned to handle boats and rib boats, and he enjoyed guiding friends during summer outings.

As an adult he finally had a boat of his own: first a small one, then, after obtaining his boating licence, the rib boat of his dreams, a Nuova Jolly Prince 28, 8.80 metres long, with a 300 hp Suzuki engine.

He decided to join his friend Luca to show as many people as possible the beauty of the place he loves deeply: the Sulcis. Sailing, exploring coves and telling stories about the places visited are Simone's way of life.
