Tour recap
Departures from Calasetta, 4 hours at sea, swimming stops and island views.
Isola Piana / Villamarina
Between San Pietro and Calasetta, a low and quiet island emerges from the sea. The historic core of Villamarina still preserves the buildings connected to the old tuna fishery, giving the start of the tour a suspended, maritime atmosphere.
Tonnara di Carloforte
Warehouses, ramps and structures facing the water tell the long tradition of bluefin tuna fishing, deeply tied to Carloforte's identity. From the sea, the tuna fishery appears as a true working architecture shaped by generations of fishermen.
Punta and Grotta delle Oche
Here the rocky coast opens into a large sea cave carved by the action of the waves. Approaching by rib boat, the passage from full light to the cave's shade turns water and rock into a play of reflections and depth.
Cala Vinagra
A deep inlet cuts into the wild western coast, enclosed by rocky slopes and Mediterranean scrub. Entering from the sea reveals its remote, sheltered nature as the cliffs slowly draw closer around the boat.
Capo Sandalo Lighthouse
Italy's westernmost lighthouse dominates a spectacular cliff dropping into the open sea. From the rib boat, the contrast between the huge rock wall and the small nineteenth-century lighthouse is one of the strongest views of the tour.
Golfo del Becco
High cliffs, sharp outcrops, caves and recesses form a remote stretch of coast deeply shaped by the sea. Sailing below these walls makes their scale, colours and wild character especially impressive.
Le Colonne
The natural monument and symbol of Carloforte was shaped by wind and sea on volcanic rock. Today the surviving pillar rises beside the remains of the other column, a powerful reminder that this landscape is alive and constantly changing.
Punta Martin
A low rocky promontory reaches into the clear water of the southern coast, among sloping slabs and wind-shaped vegetation. The rib boat lets you read every detail of the stone and the contrast with the bright seabed.
Giunco / Sandy Shoal
Where the sandy seabed rises towards the surface, the water becomes exceptionally clear. The shoal and sheltered coast of Giunco offer a softer, brighter setting than the western cliffs, perfect for a relaxing swim stop.
